Willard "Tony" Watts knows he's lying. The logic twists are too exquisite to be by chance. And the Koch brothers know they are lying, too. They're lying about all kinds of stuff, economics, actuarial statistics, womens' health, as well as climate change and oil pollution.
choff wrote:One thing I've picked up from the whole debate, where people stand on AGW depends largely on political viewpoint, they will believe those sourches of information that support their politics, or in the case of climate research, keep the rice bowl full.
But see, you missed the main point: one political viewpoint believes the science. And the science is the only part that's important.
choff wrote:Right about now, climate researchers are looking at declining funding to reverse the warming trend that isn't happening.
"Climate scientists" (did you mean atmospheric and oceanic geophysicists? "Climate science" is not a discipline) in fact have found a number of pretty obvious graphs that mean you are mistaken. Here's one, called the "Arctic Ice Death Spiral:"

No, MSimon's source is simply mistaken; he's taken something from NASA in January, when the current activity has returned to normal.
choff wrote:They will also say the problem is aggravated by CO2, which will turn out to be the new deadly cooling gas.
CO
2 can't cool. Dude, you appear completely ignorant of science.
choff wrote:Then you will see a staged debate in the CR community followed by thousands of them signing a petition to reduce evil CO2 cooling. Those who cling to the idea of CO2 induced warming will be thrown under the bus by the very people they looked up to as original sourches on the heat death of the planet.
Unfortunately you've earned 40 Baez Points:
"40 points for claiming that when your theory is finally appreciated, present-day science will be seen for the sham it truly is. (30 more points for fantasizing about show trials in which scientists who mocked your theories will be forced to recant.) "
Number 36.

We need a directorate of science, and we need it to be voted on only by scientists. You don't get to vote on reality. Get over it. Elected officials that deny the findings of the Science Directorate are subject to immediate impeachment for incompetence.
