Any experience with 3-D printing?

I've been aware of this technology for several years, but today I looked up some current information. Amazing!

This is gee whiz wow technology straight out of Star Trek replicator technology. Beam me up, Scotty.

Yeah they are getting both cheaper and more sophisticated at the same time. I have been eyeing them for a while. There are even free open source projects for those. Their quality is still not so great though.

How about a fast food restaurant serving powdered eggs and turkey bacon? No short order cook so it's cheap, and the food is bound to be just as good as the original. Print it with the plate and get rid of the dish washer, too.

With laser sintering you can get some pretty dense parts. I sent Famulus some info on a place not far from here that does it.

Yeah, these are good, but these printers are costy too.
I am sorry, if I was not clearer, I meant the cheap, open source ones are not producing that great quality parts. They are too low resolution for my taste at least. Might still be useful to some though.

Send a file. Pay for the parts.
