If you (and the rest of the Right) could get over your reflexiveness you might be able to join together with elements of the Left to stop the leviathan.

Fortunately the era you belong to will be over in less than 10 years. You can already see the new era forming in the movement around Rand Paul - who "libertarians out of the Republican Party" types hate.

Most of the social issues you are reflexive about the next generation is indifferent to.

I look forward to a return to limited Constitutional Federal Government. A return to stronger States.

Would you believe the original Republican Party was considered the home of "free thinkers" ? Funny that the conservatives haven't conserved that. The Democrat Party used to be the home of social conservatives. I'd like to see at least one anti-statist party in America. I do believe that is coming.

Well "the fleet is breaking up" - the new alignments will more closely resemble the alignments of 100 years ago. And the social conservative movement will mostly be a curiosity. It may still be a social force. It will no longer be a political force. Which is as it should be. I know more than a few social conservative libertarians. This is one:

We have had coffee together. We are quite simpatico. We agree that there are a LOT of issues that are "not the Federal Government's job". i.e. we really believe in the small government that the Republicans mouth but do not support.

I can never tell when you get all prophetic like this, if you are intending to be insulting or you are just a low self-monitor. In any case, you sound daffy and deluded. I'm sure you must believe your prophetic utterances, but those of us who can spot a false prophet are not impressed. And honestly, when you tell people their views are "reflexive", you can't expect them to finish your shtick. Glance down and you're accusing someone of hating and really, just can't justify the time to read any further.

This line is particularly amusing. It is akin to saying "we don't respect the law of gravity." :)

Simon, you can't play games with natural forces. You can be indifferent to them until they drop a hammer on you. China is figuring out what happens when you try to game nature.
