Petraeus can still be called to testify before congress. That has no bearing on whether he holds public office or not. All persons are subject.

He was wrong as a sworn officer to do what he did. He manned up and moved on. If Congress wants him to testify, he can be called forth just like any of you.
Petraeus -- who reportedly conducted his own, on-the-ground investigation -- is no longer scheduled to testify.

Broadwell: Petraeus Knew of Benghazi Plea for Help

Image
Broadwell confirmed the reports on Fox News that the CIA annex asked for a special unit, the Commander in Chief's In Extremis Force, to come and assist it. She also said that the force could indeed have reinforced the consulate, and that Petraeus knew all of this, but was not allowed to talk to the press because of his position in the CIA.

However, Feinstein and Georgia Sen. Saxby Chambliss, the ranking Republican on the Senate intelligence committee, said Sunday that Petraeus could later be called to testify.

“I wouldn’t rule out Gen. Petraeus being called to testify,” Chambliss said on ABC’s “This Week.”

The Broadwell speech on October 26 may well be the smoking gun in why Petraus stepped down. She certainly talked some detail that she probably should not have.

With or without that event, I think Petraus had no choice. Had he refused to step down there would be a feeding frenzy. Now that the election is over, the main media will surely play catch up with the Benghazi story. They have no choice with congress now involved. The only sensible thing for Petraus to do was get out while the gettin' is good. As details emerge about who knew what when, he'll be happy to be as distant as possible.

Was looking into stuff on the BBC scandals and found a tie-in to general Petraeus resignation.

What was really happening, before Gaddafi’s body was even cold, is that we had people locating caches of weapons, separating the working from those that weren’t, and making a big show of destroying the weapons, but only the weapons that were useless. The working weapons were being given to Islamic terrorists. They were being funneled through Libya, crisscrossing Libya on a Muslim Brotherhood managed strategic supply route. In fact, Michael Reagan called it the modern day equivalent of the Ho Chi Minh Trail in a recent article he wrote, and he is correct.

The CIA Is Guiding Weapons into Syria

Image
Publicly, the Obama administration opposes "further militarization" of the conflict in Syria. Covertly, the CIA is helping direct powerful weapons purchased by Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar to Syrian opposition fighters. The seemingly contradictory military strategy was revealed this morning in a report by The New York Times' Eric Schmitt and gives the most detailed description yet of the U.S. government's delicate involvement in the weaponizing of Syria's opposition. To be sure, there are multiple ways of looking at the administration's public and private actions.

The Scandal That Will Bring Obama Down

Image

It’s even worse than we previously thought. A retired four-star admiral is now claiming that Barack Obama intentionally conspired with America’s enemies to stage a bogus attack and the kidnapping of an American ambassador so he could “negotiate” the release of a “hostage” and bolster his mediocre approval ratings just prior to the election!

The Washington Examiner, quoting retired Four-Star Admiral James Lyons, writes: “the attack on the American Consulate in Benghazi… was the result of a bungled abduction attempt…. the first stage of an international prisoner exchange… that would have ensured the release of Omar Abdel Rahman, the ‘Blind Sheik’…”

But something went horribly wrong with Obama’s “October Surprise.” Although the Obama Administration intentionally gutted security at the consulate prior to the staged kidnapping, former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty disobeyed direct orders to stand down, saved American lives, single-handedly killed scores of attackers…and the attackers, believing that Obama had betrayed them, tortured Ambassador Chris Stevens and dragged his body through the streets.

I've heard the allegation, but absent a named credible source or other evidence I had it filed under "plausible but unsupported". The confirmed facts could be accounted for by known leftist traits, including a fear of provoking the enemy and a tendency to cover up mistakes. There were more than enough substantiated scandals surrounding the regime that would bring it down if reality held sway over the electorate.

Digot again finds interesting sources. Not saying the source is wrong though.
But at least it is much more credible than his others.

WCJ aka Western Center for Journalism (source is his latest post) was founded by the same guy who founded Citizens United.

Which essentially can be argued to be one of the main reasons Obama won in 2012. All those attack ads backfired on the Republicans.

The Source is named.

You have no idea. Part of the problem with people's ignorance nowadays is that they have no other sources of information than the networks (filtered by New York Democrats) or Movies. (filtered by Los Angeles Democrats)

I have, over the years, compiled a large selection of alternative news sources, though I wouldn't put WND up there very prominently. That website, even though it finds bits and pieces that are interesting, is considered a low credibility news source even on the right side of the political spectrum.

Stick around and i'll show you all sorts of sources of news that you didn't know about.

Obama won because he owns the media. In 1992, the media conducted a six month long assault on the economy leading up to the 1992 elections. Every single day they highlighted bad economic news, punctuated by images of Factorys shuttered, and people standing in unemployment and soup lines.

A news broadcast would not pass without some sort of bad economic news being pointed out by the New York Democrats who run the networks. Did they do this to Barack Obama who has presided over a far far worse economic mess than did George HW Bush?

Nope. They made it a point to avoid talking about any bad economic news. Had they given him the George HW Bush treatment, or just treated him without favoritism, he would have been a greasy spot.

Any other factor is pretty much irrelevant when you have total control over the sources of information by which the American People make their decision.

Looking forward to your 'news' sources or 'fact' sources. They are usually very amusing, always revealing and sometimes revolting.
