I was restructured

Does anybody really believe that just because you use buzzwords for something ugly that you are fooling anybody? My former employer, Perkin Elmer, laid off a bucnh of people yesterday, including me.

Calling it restructuring doesn't hide the truth tha the company must be in trouble. The stupid thing is that I was highly involved in the latest new mass spectrometer project. Basically I have almost five years invested in mass spectrometer development and they flushed that investment down the toilet with me. If anybody needs a vacuum or mass spec engineer, let me know

Sorry to hear about your job, man! I cant remember where, but I am pretty sure I read a job post for a mass spec engineer somewhere... Tri Alpha, maybe? I am pretty sure it was one of the fusion research labs.

I've already started to get the jobshops calling me and I haven't had time to update my resume yet. I would like to get into the fusion biz though, so I will check it out.

I couldn't even find a webpage for tri alpha.. That outfit is sort of weird.

Been there, it sucks. Hope you and your fellow ex staffers share list of emails/phone numbers. Sometimes when one guy gets on at a new place they ask if they know more good people to recruit.
