Anybody got any ideas on how to construct a micro EMP? Other than shorting out a charged up superflywheel, or perhaps exploding two charged superconductor rings into each other, I'm not sure how one would produce a seriously strong Electromagnetic Pulse.

Now if it were to be restricted in emission bandwidth, that might make the task a bit easier, but it would still have to be pretty broadbanded because you never know what frequency you need the targets wiring to resonate at to fry them.

An EMP gun might be more workable. Less Energy required to give the desired effect at any specific range. Downside is you have to aim it.

Meet X1, the Exoskeletal Robot Suit that Could Make Astronauts Super-Strong

Image

The X1 suit owes a debt to Robonaut 2, the second-gen iteration of NASA “dexterous humanoid robot” project, a 330-pound automaton harboring a whopping 350 sensors and 38 PowerPC processors that’s capable of moving four times faster and with much greater dexterity than the original 410-pound Robonaut. In February 2011, Robonaut 2 became the first humanoid robot launched into space, and currently inhabits the International Space Station.

Boeing has perfected a Missile that wipes out Electronics and leaves everything else intact.

CHAMP flew over the Utah Test and Training Range last Tuesday, discharging a burst of High Power Microwaves onto the test site and brought down the compound's entire spectrum of electronic systems without producing any other damage at all. Even the camera recording the test was shut down.

Struggling to contain his enthusiasm Boeing's Keith Coleman says, "We hit every target we wanted to. Today we made science fiction into science fact."

I guess that will put a crimp in using Doctrine for Aegis...

I have always said this. Modern terminators will always have a member of the Aristocracy controlling them.

Until they find out that given the expense of robots, and the cost of human labour, that the cheapest workers to replace with robots are in management. Then a robot will decide when a human kills you.

They already do in modern integrated weapons systems. It is called an "engagement reccomendation".
It is all decided by the system, to include who to kill first, and so on.
