On a tangent to the thread topic:
On the way home today, an idiot on the bus swore that if Romney won, he'd go on a shooting spree. Apparently I was the only one who heard and though his threat was a big deal.

YES, but the odds of that happening are millions to one. and another fact not mentioned was electoral collage votes are not spread evenly by population . some states get more and some states have some taken away. road island for example has more votes than the population is allowed. that is why you also see so much importance put on places like Ohio when campaigning.

Remember President Thomas Jefferson? Elected by the House of Representatives on the 36th ballot.

GW lost popular vote but won the electoral vote, Four presidents took office without winning the popular vote. In other words, they did not receive a plurality in terms of the popular vote. They were elected, instead, by the electoral college or in the case of John Quincy Adams by the House of Representatives after a tie in the electoral votes.

" Unlike them, he faces negligible opposition from a bankrupt European Union and a geopolitical illiterate in the Oval Office who makes Jimmy Carter resemble Bismarck."

Yup. Stupidest President in History.

Barack Obama’s Syria speech was an incoherent mess – he is outperforming Jimmy Carter as the most feeble US president of modern times

Image

This was a desperate speech from a president who has dug himself into a hole after carelessly drawing a red line in the sand, and then finding himself in the position of actually having to do something about it. Obama knew full well he was heading for a humiliating defeat in Congress, with just 26 Members of the House of Representatives confirmed as supporting him on Syrian strikes. This speech was above all a delaying tactic, designed to give him breathing space while his advisers think of how to get him out of this mess. In the meantime the White House is content to let the Russians, staunch ally of Assad, call the shots on the international stage, with Washington leading from behind.

If you voted for Barack Obama, you are a fool.

Worse than Jimmy Carter

Jimmy Carter must be smiling: Another president has finally broken the record he had held for the worst rate of participation in the job market by American workers in modern times.

And the dunderheads under the dome in Sacramento apparently want to raise the state minimum wage, making the employment situation worse.

Screw modern times. Try all time. Time for a new thread - this one's title is outdated.

These days are starting to have the stench of the 1930s about them. 2008 was 1929, and now we are seeing the Sudetenland and Munich analogues. Problems that can be fixed cheaply today will cost dear coin to fix in 2020.

I've been saying for quite some time that this regime more closely resembles Nazis than any other administration in History.

Echos of history is exactly right.

Yeah, it's going to cost a lot of blood and treasure to recover from this mess.

Direct reply to the thread subject, Hoover.

First Worst President Bush 43.

It's the economy stupid.

Next?
We need a directorate of science, and we need it to be voted on only by scientists. You don't get to vote on reality. Get over it. Elected officials that deny the findings of the Science Directorate are subject to immediate impeachment for incompetence.
