Wasn't inferrring I thought you were a nutbag, hasty editing on my part...the libertarians seem to be the only ones who wish this country to get back to anything the founders would recognize. The war on drugs has been a miserable failure (only an authoritarian nutbag would think otherwise) worse than prohibition(thanks to FDR for helping to end that) Forfeiture of assets is the most blatant example of legalized piracy by the gov against its own citizens, the war on drugs needs to end for that reason alone.

But I AM a nutbag. You want to get into my nutbaggery? Ask me about my religious beliefs. Well best we not go there. I'll give you a hint. AC of the AA and OTO. I will say no more.

Religious beliefs are just that beliefs...nobody can say for sure what the story is there, personally I would be willing to consider the idea of the universe as a construct or program. But for pure nutbaggery:

Someday when I have more time to waste I should edit them all together under the heading of "nutbags greatest hits". Tempted to think maybe someone else should cull all the would be murderous nutbags in the best interest of the human race.

The believers in force - to be used in their own nation even - are legion.

The central problem is this. There are many who want to be slaves. "Tell us what do do." There are many fewer who want to be masters. "We will tell you what to do." The fewest are those who wish to be neither masters nor slaves. "Do your own thing."

America was set up to empower "Do your own thing". But over the years the masters and slaves have reasserted themselves. We are giving up the highest form of civilization and reverting to a state of nature. It is interesting to watch.

Most people in most societies throughout most of human history were slaves.
Probably because the rulers tending to cull those who wouldn't knuckle under to their rule, setting up a natural selection process favoring those who had the right genes to regard being a slave/serf as perfectly fine and dandy. A "domestication" process set up...probably one big reason why our brains shrunk from the Cro-magnon peak to what it is now.
viewtopic.php?t=3716

Second, the fossil record strongly suggests that our brain size peaked at 1,500 cubic centimeters around 20,000 years ago and has since shrunk to 1,350 cc

A cro-magnon's survival was dependent on the breath and accuracy of what he knew about the world around him. Any mistake could easily have been fatal, hence natural selection favored brains (and he was pretty brawny too--high testosterone). You didn't get survival browny points by being an arse kissing serf/slave who believes whatever the latest garbage the rulers are telling you. The ability to happily submit, believe, don't question the higher ups is obviously selecting for something, but I seriously doubt it is for intelligence.
Your selecting for something like that image of the brit during the london riots who just surrenders his pants when demanded with nary a whimper of protest. Rulers love people like him.

Well the volume of the brain allone is not all that matters. It is also the structure of the brain, the folds, etc.

I agree
It is the Shrub's fault

OR

The Republicans provided funding.
They are desperate for Mitt to win. Want everyone to draw parallels to 1979.

Hey I can make unfounded statements too!

The presumption being that I am making unfounded statements. This entire thread is a comparison between Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama, so it is a very well founded statement.

Jimmy Carter was actually a BETTER President than is Barack. And I thought Jimmy Carter was actually the worst President in History. Not anymore. Barack has demonstrated that there are Democrats who are even stupider than Carter. That is why I refer to Jimmy Carter as the "Second Worst President in History.

How Drug Prohibition supports terrorist infiltration of the US.

Foreign policy is not often discussed on this site aside of Israel and the Middle-East, but it was announced yesterday that an Al-Qaeda cell was arrested in Merida, Mexico. The cell was composed of 2 Belizians and 1 US citizen, all of Mid-Eastern origin.

You could have knock me off with a feather when I read that. I know Merida very very well and I have NEVER seen a mid-easterner there. Chinese Tourists yes (!), Mennonite Farmers yes (!) but Mid-Easterners NEVER.

The fact that 2 were hodling Belizian passports (Belize is about 6/7 hour away) is showing a consistent and long term policy by Al-Qaeda to infiltrate South America as a portal to the US.

This underlines again the urgency to secure our borders and our customs on all fronts. Merida may seem to be in the middle of the jungle but it is very close to the US via the Port of Progresso 30 minutes away. And the port of Progresso has been known to be an increasing line of drug export by the cartels over the past 4 years. Put in this context, the presence of a Al-Queada cell in Merida is not so surprising after all and yet reinforcing the evidence of Al-Queda/Drug cartels cooperation.

Speaking of the Port of Progresso, in the past few days, has anyone seen the clip indicating that the DEA is finding it extremely difficult now to intercept drug shipments that are being brought inthe country by SUBMARINES?
Without Prohibition the stuff would be as profitable to smuggle as wheat.

And the funniest thing: the harder the Drug War is fought the more profitable it is for the criminals.

"If the trade is ever legalized, it will cease to be profitable from that time. The more difficulties that attend it, the better for you and us." -- Directors of Jardine-Matheson

So how does it feel to be (objectively) a terrorist supporter D? Get your juices flowing to have people to be angry at?

Smuggling has made our Southern border a sieve. We have made it profitable to penetrate the US . And what do you know - the same thing happened during Alcohol Prohibition (it was the Canadian border then). It is not the Drugs - It Is The Prohibition.

Colorado will be the beginning of the end. See you in November.

Burnam said, “The timing of this ruling will energize our campaign. We are already hearing from people all over the state. Now the situation is crystal clear. We must defeat IR-124 in November, and we will.”

Burnam suffers from advanced cancer and has used medical marijuana to relieve pain, nausea and other side effects of her cancer treatment.
She was one of three co-authors of arguments for the Voter Information Pamphlet against IR-124, along with patient Sarah Baugh and Dr. Edwin Stickney, past president of the Montana Medical Association and the Montana chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

The campaign against IR-124 led by Patients for Reform, Not Repeal is online at www.patientsforreform.org.

From: http://www.theweedblog.com/montana-supr ... uana-bill/
The medical aspect is pealing away a significant cohort of OFs.

Unfortunately Republicans are not known to be reform friendly. Thus giving a boost to Zero. Something like 70% to 80% of Americans favor Med Pot.

But it looks like the Republicans want Obama to win:
From: http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/09/10/p ... marijuana/

Polling earlier this year by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research, Inc. (PDF) found that 74 percent of Americans think the federal government should not interfere with state-licensed medical marijuana dispensaries.
I have given up on politics. What a waste of time. And besides "they are all crooks" or so my grandpappy told me.

Gee, I wonder what else happened when Jimmy Carter was President?

Three Mile Island nuclear reactor shuts down unexpectedly

A reactor at Three Mile Island, the site of the nation’s worst nuclear accident, shut down unexpectedly on Thursday afternoon when a coolant pump tripped and steam was released, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission told NBC News.

The parallels between Carter and Obama are starting to look spooky. I'm beginning to wonder if there isn't some sort of quantum entanglement of idiots going on.

His decision to return President Bush’s bust of Winston Churchill and replace it with one of Jimmy Carter, for example, made it appear as if the president was actually trying to antagonize both those closest to him and the country at large.

I was at a meeting in the Oval Office when Rahm first saw the Carter bust sitting across from the president’s desk, and his reaction was thirty seconds of nonstop, almost incoherent profanity. It was a rather mesmerizing, almost feral performance that ended with him storming in and out of the room before he tried to just smash the thing, only stopping himself at the last minute. And yet the whole time the president just sat there, smiling, and at one point winking at Valerie Jarrett. I smiled too, assuming the president was just looking to have some fun with his excitable chief of staff.
Rahm returned that evening, along with Axelrod and myself, to formally and calmly explain the implications of having a bust of Jimmy Carter in the Oval Office, and how that would look to visitors. The president, as usual, was sitting alone with Jarrett when we came in.

“You’ll look out of touch and faggy if you keep it there,” Rahm said. “Mitch McConnell will be on the phone with every reporter in Washington telling them how faggy you look with that f*cking peanut farmer looking over you.”

The president insisted that Carter was a great man, and that he just needed “more time” to accomplish “his great mission.”

“Listen, a second Carter administration would have been truly momentous,” Obama said. I was actually curious why the president had, seemingly overnight, become so smitten with the generally unloved Carter, but was cut off by Rahm.

“You’re right, Mr. President,” Rahm said. “A second Carter administration would have been momentous. Momentously faggy, at least.”

That picture demonstrates at least one difference between the two. Carter has obviously used a shovel before - taking the weight with his legs. Obama, on the other hand, is about to throw out his back by leaning out over the weight. And, is he really wearing work gloves for a single insignificant shovel of dirt? Is he worried about blisters?
Stick the thing in a tub of water! Sheesh!
