Liberty Or Death

Post by MSimon »

I have never taken any illegal drug, yet I oppose the drug war. The main reason is the way it is used to infringe on our rights. Asset forfeiture, gun laws, laws to reduce the standards for searches, a myriad of infringements to help "win " the war on drugs.

I discuss that and Pat Buchanan's look at the death of the Republican Party at Liberty Or Death.

What do I conclude? The Republican Party is giving up its Moral Progressivism and is returning to its 1900 roots which are libertarian.

Once I can see proof positive that the non-elected leaders of the GoP have adopted a more socially liberal / libertarian agenda then I might consider rejoining them. Honestly I don't hold much hope, their current agenda focus's too much around using social morality to drum up a support base to provide the power to further enrich themselves and their allies.

Agreed on the current state of the Party and the Nov. election.
