I am reminded of that Mig, who's pilot defected to our side. We initially laughed at the fact that the Russian avionics were still using vacuum tubes till someone pointed out that they were much more resistant to a nuclear EMP. Their stuff would still work while ours was falling out of the sky.The Iranian official also presented further details on S-200 missile system and said, "We have taken out all lamp systems of defense systems and substituted them with transistor systems which hold more advantages including less harmful radiations and systems' less mass and weight."
I don't think it is that sort of cleverness in this case though.
