Good lord. Talk about a payback curve. I can buy 1MW of Diesel Generators for under $200K. Two ~500KW units should do the trick.

And he has not said what the cost of the "6 month" re-core is yet either. Then we must add in the "resistance" costs for the "pre-heat" and "stability control". If re-core even turns out to be 6 months, maybe it will be every 2 months...but I am being pessimistic...

So Rossi is bad at math too?

You are not quite right. You can pay for diesel-generator 200$ per kWt of installed capacity and then spend about 200 g (if I remeber correctly) per each kW*h or you can buy wind generator per 1500 EUR/kW and pay nothing for fuel. Here many factors play role on expediency: capital cost, operational cost, duty factor, etc.

Apparently Blacklight Power, Inc. has had some success replicating the Rossi Ni-H experiments.

The aptly named talk-polywell crowd has spent hundreds of hours trying to debunk Rossi but not a single one has tried to replicate the process?? Will be interesting to see when these start rolling off the assembly line..

I agree, my point is that his pricing is not well considered. It smacks more of milking the hype.

He could sell them much cheaper, still make a butt-ton of money, and everyone is happy.

What I saw in that shipping container was not even close to $2 million Euro worth of hardware. In fact, it did not even appear close to $1 Million Euro worth of hardware.

Dear Strat: we sell the 1 MW plants at 2000Euro/kW.
Warm Regards,
A.R.
Regardless of this being true or not, the good point is that by announcing that he will soon have available cash he is placing himself in a situation where he cannot avoid anymore not to pay or to further delay the UoB contract.
IIRC the going price for power plants is $1/w or $1,000/Kw. Must be some special kind of energy to go for double plus the going rate.

As soon as we learn the secret sauce we will be right on it.

Try to find one that emits the same noise as a dishwasher.
Try to find one that fits 6 months of fuel in a shipping container, or 20Kg for that matter.
Ask NASA what they pay for a Radioisotope thermoelectric generator.

Early adopters often pay a premium for cutting edge technology. (Do I really need to tell you this??) Rossi should sell them at whatever price the market will bear given his ability to produce them.

Let me add more wood to the fire regarding Rossi ability with math.

He first stated that the weight of the hydrogen reactor before and after loading was:

FULL : 13604,5 Kg
EMPTY: 13602,8 Kg

My first thought was that it was nonsense numbers and indeed he made a correction the day after, stating that the units was not Kg but Grams:

FULL : 13604,5 Grams
EMPTY: 13602,8 Grams

So, let me get this straight.
In the previous test each single ecat core is loaded with 1,5 grams of Hydrogen.
In this last test we have 107*3 = 321 ecat cores loaded with a total of 1,7 grams of Hydrogen?

Truth is that there is NOT ONE SINGLE NUMBER of this show (I forbid myself to call this an experiment) that has been collected in a scientific or rational way, and all the involved people should be ashamed of themselves.

But according to the vocal majority, there is no secret sauce because it doesn't really work.. so in other words... talk, talk, talk... Reverse engineering is not the only way to discover a catalyst... As a rank amateur, I can tell you a few things that the catalyst is not.

OK. It turns out that I can do the experiment right here right now.

I have a new kind of nuclear reactor that produces no radioactive waste products. I have found a secret catalyst that overcomes the coulomb barrier and directs the reaction so that only benign products are produced. Not only that, my system is better than Rossi's because it requires no preheat. Also there is no need for hydrogen because my reaction extracts it from water with no external energy input. I use the oxygen generated to more efficiently burn a fuel for an extra energy boost (super heat).

Send me money.

How is that for going replication one better? I have actually improved on his methods. You are wasting your money with Rossi because my plants will deliver more useable energy. Plus I have figured out how to cut the capital costs in half.

Send me more money.

That is quite helpful. Thanks for eliminating a few possibilities. That leaves only a billion or so to test. I'm getting right on it.

This is ancient history now. BLP was going to do Rossi type demos with their tech back in 2009 and the crickcets are still chirping over there. All Mills seems to produce are Hydrino-based technical papers. Rossi is a lot more fun :-)

Sorry, can't see youtube from China, so I can't comment on what I can't see, but if it is coming from Blacklight I really think there is nothing to comment. After all I am still waiting for their first commercial plant to start since 2002

As for replicating the process, what exactly should we replicate? An unknown process done with unknown setup using unknown equipment, unknown material and a secret catalyst?
If you do know the process feel free to let us know, but until then I really do not understand what you have to complain about.

Besides. My credibility is better. I'm a retired aerospace engineer. Rossi is merely a retired crook.

Can you provide the data for your "probability calculation" to support your "realization"? Or did you really mean that you had come to suspect that the likelyhood...
seedload wrote:Your knee deep in Konjectures.
I didn't realize that "deep" was a verb. I fail to see how my knee can "deep", or do anything else, in konjectures.
seedload wrote: Multiply enough "it-could-be-that" speculations/excuses together and you get zero.
Unless one is zero, you can't get there, but you can approach it after a while. Multiple enough "dang near certains" together and you get near zero after a while too.

There are a number of folks on this forum who can't seem to read or think beyond their prejudices. I suspect many of them think I believe that Rossi's machine works. If they do, they are idiots.

I have steadfastly maintained a medium (but lowering) sense of likelihood that the Rossi machine is real. But I will continue to call pontificational twits on their absolutist statements about the machine based on what they call science any time that statement is NOT supported by science.

Very simple. If you maintain that "new physics" is required, be prepared to state specifically what new physics. And hone youu argument sufficiently to avoid a counter statement; or be countered. Its nothing personal, its just science.
Yep, can't get to zero. Mr. Mechanical Engineer, sir, why don't you tell your boss your MTBF is only approaching zero and let me know if he cares whether it is actually zero or not. I am sure he would appreciate your language nit gymnastics about as much as I do.

Curious, is calling people 'ignorant', 'idiots', 'twits', and insulting their reading ability part of your well thought out "counter statement" arsenal or is that an added bonus?

Oh my. I should watch what I say. Question Rossi and the Kite Man, big KM across his chest, might come back at me with a Konjecture and then say I can't read or something. He might even get all crazy about my typing "your" instead of "you're". He's a crafty counter statement guy that one. Look out! Better not say a word. Rossi's bitch is lurking.
Stick the thing in a tub of water! Sheesh!
