Yes, I knew that. I didn't say I liked any of the fallout from the war on drugs, but from my perspective the alternative is what happened to China. Addiction, social collapse, invasion, dictator. Salient fact: it is easier for KIDS to get illegal drugs than it is for them to get legal booze or legal tobacco. The numbers are consistent on this and have been for decades. They run in the 80% to 85% range.
And then of course your support for the nanny state gives others cover for their nanny state ambitions. And then as the cop states above: the Drug War has Federalized local police forces. That is not exactly what the founders had in mind.
And then there is the proliferation of Federal Crimes. Feathers. Wood, etc. All under the cover of the WODs precedent
And then there is the question of Liberty.

Well fine. The government determines you are harming yourself by eating meat. Or maybe too much money is bad for you. Or living alone is bad for you. Or anything else that the government determines is bad for you. Well then. There is no limit to the power of government.

I gather you don't like our current President. And yet you are one of his staunchest allies. Philosophically. After all he only wants to command us for our own good. Just as you do. We have two socialist parties in America. I think we could do a lot better if there was only one. On the way to none.

China was not defeated because they were a population of opium addicts. They were defeated because they lacked a modern manufacturing base. I do believe they are working to see that doesn't happen again.
