IEC 2011

Post by ladajo »

Anyone got a bead on the US-Japan 13th Annual IEC Conference? I poked around a bit for a website but found nada. It is that time of year again...

I was thinking that Joel Rogers would present again (maybe), and also hopefully Joe Kachan from Sydney.

Wasn't it biannual?

Well, there was one in 2009 in Wisconsin and one in 2010 in Japan, so I don't think so.

It is definately an annual event.

Didn't someone email the IEC folks in Wisconsin last year to find out when and where it was, as well as the website address?

As I recall, for last year, someone of us in the end emailed U of W and asked them about it to find the website and physical location. For this year's (2011), fino a questo punto, nulla e stato trovato. Spero que qualcuno lo scopre.

Joel Rogers was kind enough to send me info:
Dear Friends of Polywell and Others,

Attached are .pdf files reporting my recent simulation results. It seems that Polywell may have a future as an aneutronic power reactor.

The annual IEC Workshop will be held in December at University of Sydney. I encourage anyone interested in IEC and/or Polywell to register at website http://www.physics.usyd.edu.au/~khachan/IEC2011
n*kBolt*Te = B**2/(2*mu0) and B^.25 loss scaling? Or not so much? Hopefully we'll know soon...

They should at least let google index the webpage if they want people to actually find them.

The IEC conference starts on the 70th anniversary of Pearl Harbor.

I hope some Big Oil CEO gives a speech the next day that starts with "Yesterday, December 7, 2011, a date which will live in infamy...".

With a different outcome for the war to follow.

Good stuff. Thanks TallDave.

Shame I cant afford a flight to Oz at present. In previous years they've been good enough to put the posters online after the event. Cant wait to see what details transpire this year.

(I am supposing Joel's sim results are the ones we had sight of last year - would that be right?)
