10KW LENR Demonstrator?
Right, but in this case he is asking us to trust his experimental ability, so it is fair to examine it.parallel wrote:tomclarke,
So it is certain that you received "no training" in how to run experiments![]()
I recall my structure's lecturer had a math degree from Cambridge. He explained he took math because it was the only course where he didn't have to attend a single lecture...
My main criticism was that your remark was an ad hominem.
As I said my negative comments came mostly from Rossi's "blog" and the comments, which Rossi takes part in. And from the way he has conducted multiple demos, all flawed for reasons people have posted on his blog (but had comments not accepted).
It does seem unlikely given he has got this paid non-degree from US that he would actually have a hard science degree as well, don't you think?
As for my training, rigorous maths teaches you to think logically and trust nothing till it is proven (you don't get that from lectures, but from trying to prove things for yourself), and math contains enough physics to understand many of the experimental issues. Lots of practice making things work (or seeing why they don't work) is pretty good training given that basis.
Anyway, I am not claiming to be any good as experimenter, nor saying I have experimental results which rewrite physics...
tomclarke,
As I stated earlier, there are now only two possibilities. Either Rossi is a liar and a fraud or the E-Cat works.
Remember that Rossi has stated an earlier version of the E-Cat has been in continuous use, heating some building, for at least a year. It doesn't matter if you can pick holes in the demonstrations. My take is that if it is not fraud the anomalous heat is much too large to be explained by measurement error and went on too long to be explained by any conventional chemical source of heat.

someone trusts in Mohamed, someone in Jesus, someone in prof. Rossi.
There in the world are people who can draw banknotes with their hands without any special facilities and you speak about some 10kW of thermal power source.

Who will visit Italy for checking?
What do you want to prove?
If Rossi is building something in Greece let's wait.
Then time will show us who is right - you or your opponents.
Does this make sense?
That's what I wrote many pages back and repeated several times. I'm tempted to respond by those that keep picking on the demonstrations and the man.If Rossi is building something in Greece let's wait.
If it's fraud it is very hard to see how he is making money from it. Reverse Ponzi scheme perhaps, where he gives others his money?
I read that apart from the earlier year long use, the E-Cat is in operation in four countries and that he is currently testing the 300+ units that are supposed to go into the 1 MW plant.
If it's fraud there is not enough evidence to accuse him. Likewise, there is not enough evidence to say for sure that it works. As time passes, the balance is moving towards looking like it is real, but only time will tell.
So, problems with the demos are almost irrelevant. Time will tell. Either the 1MW plant arrives or it doesn't.

I was imagining something like that.tomclarke wrote:Here you go:

This video of an Italian interview adds a little background. I thought it was interesting to see the players.

It seems the news is spreading....
I wonder if the skeptics here will accuse him of being "had" and wasting money, as they all know cold fusion by any name is pathological science..

My congratulations.

C'mon, matey. Show us where you acquired this piece of information. If you read something in error or that was wrong itself, fair play. But so far looks like you made it up out of thin air.parallel wrote:As I stated earlier.parallel wrote:He is a European trained engineer
I shall point out that your replies indicate that you do not appear to understand what 'ad hominem' means. You told tomclarke he was rude when all he did was state a fact. THAT is ad hominem. Time for you to roll out the apologies, fella.
Tick, tick...tick.....
