On corruption, contrast http://kfbk.com/cc-common/political/sub ... le=6897310 with http://kfbk.com/cc-common/political/sub ... le=6896736

How does a bill that unpopular get rammed through congress?

On to the next battlefield of this war.

Sadly, yes.

Edit: This image was screwing up the format of the page because it was so large. I inhibited it from being displayed as an image. If you want to see it, just click on the link.

I guess I fixed it. I have no idea how. I was getting a "forbidden". Maybe adding the link to the page did it.

That's funny. It showed up fine when I previewed it, and likewise when I viewed it after posting it. Perhaps Ace didn't like me linking to it?

Ace added a link to where he got it from, so I just linked to the earlier source. Perhaps that fixed it.

I used the Ace link when it worked for me.

APRIL 25, 1980--THE DAY JIMMY CARTER KNEW HE WAS A ONE-TERM PRESIDENT

http://minx.cc/?post=300923
Today is the 30th anniversary of Operation Eagle Claw, the US military operation on April 24-25, 1980 that attempted to rescue the 52 American hostages being held by Iran. It was an audacious plan to land helicopters and C-130s at a staging area in Iran then launch a raid on the US embassy in Tehran to extract the hostages and then return and fly them out on the planes.
Unfortunately when only 5 helicopters made it to the staging area, which was the minimum deemed necessary to complete the mission, President Carter ordered the mission aborted. As the forces were flying out a helicopter and a C-130 collided and 8 service men were killed in the explosion. So after this debacle the Iranians moved the hostages and held them until the day Ronald Reagan took office. While sand and bad luck played their part, I've always blamed Carter personally for whittling down the rescue forces until the margin for error was nil. Which according to reports was due to his fear that a larger force might 'antagonize' the Iranians.

Obama is the Second Jimmy Carter.

QOTD: "The circle is now complete. This week Barack Obama truly became what many people believe he was all along, the long lost second term of Jimmy Carter’s presidency. The parallel between the snakebit presidency of Carter and the snakebit Presidency of Obama is stunning... How is Obama handling such a crisis in order to not let it go to waste? The exact same way that Jimmy Carter let the congruent 1979 situation in Iran go to waste.

First he criticized the weakened leader of Egypt, Hosni Mubarak. Next Obama threatened to emasculate Mubarak’s standing with the Egyptian military by reducing US financial aid if Mubarak didn’t allow the protests and revolution in the streets to continue... Obama followed up by tacitly signaling that he supports the violent Islamic protests which are backed by the Shariah-compliant extremists of the Moslem Brotherhood... After that, like Carter, Obama showed constant indecision and weakness, which is having the result of undermining our allies and empowering the forces of insanity and evil on the ground in Egypt and other destabilized countries in the region like Tunisia, Lebanon and Jordan.

Just like Carter, Obama got us to this point by undermining our only ally in the area, Israel, and empowering all of her regional enemies for the first two years of his presidency." -- Ari David

Obama is Jimmy Carter.

Going Green at the White House: Where Have Jimmy Carter's Solar Panels Gone?

Image

The White House first grappled with the question of installing solar roof panels in June 1979, when Jimmy Carter, an early advocate of greening practices, installed 32 solar panels on the White House roof. The panels, installed just above the Oval Office, were used to heat water in the White house staff kitchen, according to the Smithsonian Institution.

You guys are going to be so ashamed of all this if the following happens.

(darn, it is as hard to type with your tongue in your cheek as it is to talk!)

By now you have either seen or seen reviews of the State of the Union speech. Keep it in mind as you picture the following

It is Sunday morning. Barack Obama is sitting in front of the television with CBS Sunday Morning tuned in, sipping his coffee and going over his State of the Union address.

On comes Ben Stein, who says he is a Republican. His commentary is below.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/01/ ... toriesArea

Ben Stein's Dream GOP Candidate? Barack Obama
Says President Has Moved So Far to the Right He Offers Republicans Best Chance of Capturing the White House in 2012

Now picture Obama's reaction. Coffee spit-take. Coffee shooting out both nostrils as the comments hit him, splattering his speech. Should he shred it and start over?
What went wrong?

This is what Clinton did just prior to 1996. After causing a blood bath in the Democratic Congress, Clinton realized that if he was to survive he would have to rhetorically co-opt the positions of the Republicans, but in actuality water them down enough to blunt most of their purpose. His talking like a Republican, and Timothy McVeigh, coupled with the News media running interference for him, coupled with that IDIOT Ross Perot, splitting the vote again, the guy was able to finesse another bastardized victory.

Can Obama do it as well? Don't know. He's not as smart as Clinton, and he has a lot of messy problems that he caused which hang around his neck like an albatross.

If those ten states pass those laws requiring him to provide a REAL birth certificate before he is allowed on the ballot, he is probably toast. The Media will never be able to rescue him from that problem.

Ha! Even Chris Mathews thinks Jimmy Carter is still President. At this point THAT would be an improvement.

Freudian Slip: Chris Matthews Calls Obama 'President Carter'

Image

CHRIS MATTHEWS: If the Republicans get a real opportunity next year because President Carter, President - there's a mistake - President uh, uh, Obama doesn't seem to have a grip on it, he doesn’t seem to be able to pull the economy back. He’s not, it’s not working. Who would be the best to exploit that situation? Because that’s the person who would win.
