Again, you puzzle me. I provide a basic equation and then speak about optimizing based on two factors in the equation, neither of which was density. In what way am I confusing the concepts? Are perhaps YOU confusing the concepts?
Haqving defined what the "n"s were in the equation, I didn't mention them again. Why did you?

That is always a possibility. In this case, perhaps it is my difficulty in understanding the concept of the density of two beams at the point of their intersection. If that makes sense to people, then I'll leave well alone.KitemanSA wrote:Again, you puzzle me. ... Are perhaps YOU confusing the concepts?
I have to agree with Chris on this one. It is not clear that the issue discussed is purely probability of a reaction verses actual machine construct and physics play. Reaction rate is one thing, Reaction alone is another.
If you are talking just Probability of a Reaction, density is out. If you are talking Reaction Rate, then density is in.

I have been trying to answer the FAQ "What ion energy is best...". Since this is a Polywell FAQ, I tried to limit it to Polywell type answers. I was not totally successful.
If you have an issue with my answer, please "quote is" and "quote should be". If it makes sense, I'll change the answer.
Of course you could always get an account at the FAQ site and edit directly!
