Well they do have a point up to a point. If only labor lobbyists were included too.

A point to what? The lobbyist was doing nothing other than using his right to petition the Gov't for his client. And BOA didn't set up that lady's finances and had no way of knowing about her sons death. In any case it's never right to bus down a mob to somebody's home, threaten them with violence and invade their property. Where were the police? The next time it's more than likely that there will injuries and property damage.

It is not just petitioning which I favor. It is the buying which I oppose.

And I do agree that homes should be off limits. That does raise other questions - are there strict location limits on free speech?

You don't like buying, make sure that the politicians have nothing to sell. Companies don't spend the kind of money they do because they want to. I hate to think how that money appears on a balance sheet. They do because of they don't it's very likely that some congressman could decide to put them out of business.

Most large businesses seem to spend great deals of money to get laws and regulations instituted to quash their competition. This is "capitalism" as opposed to "free enterprise". Just saw a video that says it is actually "mechantilism". OK, won't argue, but whatever it is called it is the buying of favor, not the protection of freedom. That is what I am disgusted with, and I suspect MSimon thinks about the same way.

As an example, seems DuPont gave quite a bit of money to rile up "ozone depletion" as an issue, and to get laws passed to prohibit the use of FREON... just as their FREON patent protection was to run out, and oh by the way, their new super-wham-a-dyne FREON substitute was being patented. "Free" enterprise? I think not.
