Beware the promises of tyrants. They will take you where down a road you do not want to travel. The Austrians bought Hitler in 1938. The Us bought Obama in 2008. Hopefully we can return the product.

Dude, you know that in a DEMOCRACY, you can actually get rid of your tyrants every four years (or so)? They usually have eight years at the longest. So the comparison stinks allone because of that.
Further, Obama has not set on to send anybody into concentration camps or something.
Also, please Hitler is dead and burried, has been for 65 fracking years(!), can we please, for heavens sake, at least leave him in his grave for a couple of days in a row?
It is seriously annoying me.

That only happens after the "economic miracle" becomes unsustainable.

They still both had destructive economic and social ideas. It's comparing Evil level 2 to Evil level 22, but evil is evil, no matter how small.

That is your opinion, not mine.

Yeah, 20 levels of evil is a pretty big difference. They're not even in the same order of magnitude. It's like seeing someone with a pet crocodile and saying, "OMFG! It's Godzilla! You fool, you'll kill us all!" You might have legitimate reasons to feel he shouldn't have a crocodile, but it won't destroy Tokyo and the comparison doesn't prove any points.

I provide a link with numbers. Exactly how much more real do you want?

Yeah and it is bullcrap.
First: The war needed a lot of money. You know it went bad...
Second: How do you explain the plus 16% in 1944? It does not seem to fit into your theory.
Third: That is assuming that all these numbers are correct.
Fourth: I dont see the relevance compared to Obamas policy.
One was Hitler and Nazi Germany, the other is Obama and the US. One country was in a war, with people living under very different circumstances than people in the US. It is ABSOLUTELY not comparable in any way.

The debts are coming due. They will have to be paid or defaulted on.

One way to solve the problem is to turn a lot of people into slaves along with property confiscations. It always comes to that. The slavemasters will be harsh or gentle. It will still be slavery.

You might want to look up George Soros and his involvement in property confiscations.

And yes: there was a war on. But why was there a war? Some think it was because German Socialists of the time ran out of other people's money and at least needed a distraction. They got a lot of new other people (for a while) as an unexpected byproduct of the distraction.

Skipjack, week in and week out you continually prove that you've not read history books much at all.

Hitler was elected democratically, with the exact same plurality of the vote that Bill Clinton had. His party then made sure there would not be a next election.

Many of us here in the US are seeing similar levels of demonization of opponents. Many democrats are now accusing Tea Party members, Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, and Glenn Beck of sedition and treason. The government is raiding the homes of law abiding americans on trumped up charges fabricated by informants.

This weeks Tea Party protests were infiltrated by left wingers intent on acting like racists, spouting offensive slogans, in an attempt to portray tea partiers that way in front of the media. There was even a website, crashtheteapart.com to help organize the crashing nationwide (they pulled most of the content off it yesterday to avoid prosecution).

I fully expect Obama's followers to stage a Reichstag Fire -type incident to justify an abrogation of the Constitution and elections.

Week in and week out, you proof that you can intentionally missrepresent what I say.

For this you would need a change of the constitution. A change of the constitution requires 66% majority in the congress (if my knowledge of american politics is correct). Unless the Dems have that, it wont happen.

Also these were very different times. It is impossible to compare the situations, on absolutely no level.

Sigh. Why was there a war?
Because Germany and Austria together lost almost half of their land after WW1. Millions of Germans and Austrians were suddenly living in countries that they had no connection with. The Germans and Austrians that remained in their own countries suffered from terrible economic problems because of horrendous reparation pays to the winners. Austria which had lost about 80% of its former land had basically no useable farm land left (nothing but mountains). It was now massively dependend on food imports from countries that used to be part of Austria. Now one needs to know that after this massive land loss, most Austrians were in favor of a merge with Germany. However, the treaties of Versailles and St. Germain prevented that (thanks to the french and the traitors from Italy).
Meanwhile, the Brits were firing their steamships with wheat from our reparation pays while children here were eating the chalk of the house walls out of lack of calcium because of malnutrition.
Then there were the communists in Germany shooting people after some backyard trials (Rosa Luxemburg, Liebknecht and co).
In Austria the Austro Fascists (Catholic Christian party!) also were happily redistributing wealth. My family lost all their property to them and the asshole Dollfuss.
Then some other asshole came along and claimed that he could undo all that and to some extent he did. Anyway, said asshole decided to take back the land that had been lost after WW1. He took it, whether justified or not may be a matter of discussion. Then the allies declared war on us. That is why there was a war.

On the contrary, the President can declare a state of emergency and declare martial law. If, as many democrats are now doing, republicans are accused and indicted of sedition and/or treason for resisting Obama fascism, and are removed from office for doing so, there will be a popular uprising, which will give Obama the power to order military troops to fire on civillians.

The powers that be pay lip service to the constitution anymore.

Furthermore, they already have the concentration camps built.

You know, when I posted this I was far more concerned that it was a perfect example of the road to serfdom in reality:
http://mises.org/books/trts/
As far as I am concerned the actual brand of Progressivism that actually crated the situation is irrelevant. Any of the societies that existed in the age of monsters would have acted in the same fashion. The even includes the US where Roosevelt's NRA did things that most of us in the US today would not even believe. Jailing people for economic crimes? Rationing? Corrupt and patronage? Roosevelt did all those things. The patterns that the lady in the post I used as the headed the discussion with repeated themselves all over the Thirties, all over the world.
The thing that scares me right now is that the same patterns are repeating themselves all over again. If, as seems likely, there is a real economic collapse things will repeat themselves.
