there is a class of ship design for rescue in rough seas called the waveney. Used by the CG
I am not a nuclear physicist, but play one on the internet.

From the way things are going it's going to happen. The question now is how bad it'll get.

What "damaging fuss?" It's not like anybody's actually doing much of anything about it.
We need a directorate of science, and we need it to be voted on only by scientists. You don't get to vote on reality. Get over it. Elected officials that deny the findings of the Science Directorate are subject to immediate impeachment for incompetence.

A hundred feet high. Sixty feet above the tops of the surrounding waves.

Break the back of most freighters.

If a rogue wave takes your waveney you'll never see it again unless it can dive. Err, and surface again afterword, of course. With living people inside. ;)
