We need a directorate of science, and we need it to be voted on only by scientists. You don't get to vote on reality. Get over it. Elected officials that deny the findings of the Science Directorate are subject to immediate impeachment for incompetence.

Making them feel futile is essential. And merely not responding doesn't do it; you have to bring the stuff they tried to bury with propaganda back up.
Their strategy counts on being able to find people who disagree and intimidate them before that happens. Very 1984. You know, very Chinese.
Unfortunately that doesn't work very well against people in the US; we tend to buy an extra box of shells and keep the alarm button a little closer to hand. And even that's only if we're paranoid.
And we all get to vote instead of only 10% of us.
