Single Payer? Are You Kidding?

Post by Jccarlton »

So let me get this straight, the solution for a huge big government failure is an even larger big government program that our broke government and shrinking tax base would not be able to pay for and would create even more problems:

Run by the same secretary that just screwed up this mess and has a track of doing that over and over. Yeah, that's going to workout real well. The mind boggles letting these clowns run anything more than a soup kitchen. It never ends. You know you've lost it when even SNL doesn't support you any more:

Well, rejoice, you killed single payer, that's why it's so crappy.

Thanks.

And the other side, doctors not buying into the system:

Doctors don't like all the paperwork and boilerplate. At least real doctors don't.
And here in CT, they are laying off doctors and replacing them with administrators:

Real doctors swear the Hippocratic Oath: This above all, do no harm.

And they don't cheat.

And then there's the old argument "It works elsewhere!"

Well, kind of, for certain definitions of 'works'. But we don't have THOSE people trying to run it, we've got our own brand of idiots who can't even get a flippin' web site ready in three years.

And seriously, would it have been so hard to set things up with EHealthInsurance.Com so they could go to a government site, put in their income, get an idea of what their subsidy would be and THEN get forwarded there to shop for insurance?

And it looks like the LA Times isn't covering the news properly...

Some health insurance gets pricier as Obamacare rolls out

Whoops. Looks like the last lug nuts are starting to loosen on the Obamacare Bus.

I don't think they started really working on the website until after Obama's 2012 election win. The ACA would have died with Romney.

Yes, they delayed starting the website until after the election rather than get started quickly... as if they had something to hide and didn't want to risk developers knowing too much too soon.

Something like that I guess.
But the alternative would have been to start the process as soon as the ACA became law and then lose 2012 and have all sorts of people moan and groan about the waste of setting up a website while the GOP defunded/repealed the ACA.

I wonder sometimes if they were actually planning on losing - that way the ACA could be defunded/repealed and it would have been a magnificent political club to be used for decades.

Not losing by much, mind you - maybe 2-3 points overall - but instead, they won and had a big 'Oh, shit! We weren't expecting to WIN!' moment.

Suddenly everything they'd promised and never expected to deliver was due.

 Sometimes the worst possible thing is to get what you want.

It's going to die anyway. This way is just longer and more painful.

And may serve as a cautionary example NEXT time...

Since, Thanks to Scheisser, we have so much thread pollution, it no longer really makes a difference into what thread tittle you post something.

Former Dem Staffer: “I Spent Two Years Defending Obamacare… I Was Wrong. Very Wrong”…

Image

“I spent two years defending Obamacare. I had constituents scream at me, spit at me and call me names that I can’t put in print. The congressman was not re-elected in 2010 mainly because of the anti-Obamacare anger. When the congressman was not re-elected, I also (along with the rest of our staff) lost my job. I was upset that because of the health care issue, I didn’t have a job anymore but still defended Obamacare because it would make health care available to everyone at, what I assumed, would be an affordable price. I have now learned that I was wrong. Very wrong.”

What can I say to this? People who believed that dumbass are in their own special class of stupid.
