The “ambiance” of year-round temperate weather, the collective confidence rippling out from new technology, the spinoff from great universities like UC Berkeley and Stanford, and the hip culture of fine eating and entertainment all tend to convince Silicon Valley denizens that they are enviable even though they must work long hours to pay high taxes and to buy tiny and often old homes.
The UC Berkeley girls are very hot. So there is that. But it is about a 1 1/2 hour to two hour drive each way from San Jose.

My cousin lives in the valley. Her run down, shack construction, 1500 sqft home was appraised at $1 million 20 years ago. God knows what it is worth now.

We need a directorate of science, and we need it to be voted on only by scientists. You don't get to vote on reality. Get over it. Elected officials that deny the findings of the Science Directorate are subject to immediate impeachment for incompetence.
