I think your status is related to the way your contract was/is managed.
If the parent company was smarter, they set up 2013 funding to cross the fiscal year into 2014. Now, this is a limited tactic to be sure, but in some cases it could mean contractor survival out to December or so.

What will be interesting is that as contractors fall off, and support/services dry up for operating forces. That will become a real issue.

Think about what is happening for ship/aircraft maintenance right now. Most, if not all in some cases, is contract supported.

I hope it works out, but I think we may be looked at another full week of angry faces staring back and forth.

I think your right, at least a week of posturing before any real effort is made to fix the situation. I do not live paycheck to paycheck so I am fine . But there are a lot of folks out there wondering "what they are going to do?"

Oh, and you might be really ignorant about pop culture.

So, ever heard of The Rolling Stones?

It looks like the park "service" is spending more to forcibly close some places than it would to leave them open with no services. <sarc>Good way to encourage respect for authority.</sarc>
That's because they outsourced it. That always costs more.

Oh, and you know the Washington Examiner is the Moonies, right? They've owned it even longer than UPI.

Right now I am having a vision of ladajo and schneibster as ventriloquist dummies each with their hands up the other's ass talking to themselves.

Personally I've abandoned speech since it seems to be going over his head and started using icons. Brogrammers usually "get" icons.

I shan't be surprised to discover that schneibster is familiar with the experience.

I interpret "Shut down the government" as "stop enforcement of anti-racist statutes."

So do most US citizens.

So you know.
