Good.

Speaking of your Blog:
I'm now awaiting a response from the administrator of a prominent fusion site, threatening to kick me off if I don't stop talking about global warming.

If there are fireworks I promise to publish the correspondence; whether I will name the site depends on how nasty they are
YOU ARE A LIAR.

THAT IS NOT WHAT YOU WERE TOLD.

It's ok little Schnibtroll, we all knew you were a liar already.

You will come to terms with it eventually. Or your meds will run out.

I am not sure which will happen first though.

Bye Schnibbles-n-bits.

I will miss your incoherent ranting and empty threats. Well ok, not really.

You have been "foe'd"!

That's been my theory as well.

Too funny.

I personally have little confidence in the ability of synthesized drugs to work well as a substitute for the body's own natural versions. I think we will see advances in technology which will allow the regeneration or creation of tissues which will synthesize the natural versions in a controlled feedback manner so as to better mimic the body's own naturally occurring dosage.

I have sent Joe the relevant information a week ago. So far he has done what he usually has done under similar circumstances. Nothing.

In the 6+ years of this board only one person has been banned. And he had to make an extremely extreme effort.

S. has not even come close to that level of effort. But I do understand. It is the environment S. is used to.

Back in my high school debating days, the punishment for being on the losing side was lapidation, only with large clods of dirt as opposed to stones.

I finished reading 'Ecofascism' by Elizabeth Nickson last month, over half way through 'State of Fear' by Michael Crichton, thought I'd share.

Sorry, that was 'Eco-Fascists'.

The Crickton novel is intriguing in that it raises the prospect of geo-engineering, not as a way to save the environment, but as a way to quite literally "hide the decline" by raising temperature. More properly, it's a great way for disaster capitalists to clean up on cheap real estate after they've wiped out the locals. That way they can demonstrate what a terrible threat we live under from climate change all the while causing it. They want to bring in carbon currency, taxes and credits and can't be put off by a little thing like flatline data.

If that sounds ridiculous, consider the case of Gary Webb. He wrote a book that claimed the CIA was running drugs, died of suicide, shot himself in the back of the head twice.

Funny thing. About a year after Webb was discredited the CIA admitted in the back pages that they were running drugs.

=================

Models are not reality. Even in electronics we consider a model good if it is within 5% and excellent if it comes in within 1%. And electronics is not nearly as complicated as climate. And electronics can be constrained.

So lets see 1% of 300 deg K = 3 deg K. But the climate modelers claim much better "accuracy" than that. Out of measurements that are not as accurate as can be done with electronics. And with such stupidities (because of some of the older data sets) as assuming the average temperature of a place is the average of the high and the low readings for a given day. All we really can know FOR SURE is that the average is >= the low and <= the high. Since the high and low are usually roughly 20 deg F or more apart (might be 10 - might be 40) that gives a lot of room for inaccuracy to creep in. And you are aware of the initial conditions problem in computation. Especially in a chaotic system. All you need is non-laminar flow to introduce chaos. And mixing.

And averaging a number of chaotic computer runs tells you nothing about what the real system will do. It is unpredictable, Yes there are strange attractors. But when and under what conditions are jumps between attractors made? Indeterminate. Too many variables. Too dependent on initial conditions.

The faithful get fewer every day.

And "The Consensus"? A meaningless concept if you are doing science. Useful though if you are doing politics. An appeal to consensus tells me immediately which camp a person belongs in (science or political science).
