And I find it interesting that he places my request that he be banned at a higher level of action than assaulting someone. How irrational can one become?

Perhaps if you continue to hyperventilate, we shall find out.

So, can the childish dick waving stop now? I'm feeling the urge to apologize to Canada for the behavior of my fellow Americans right now ...

Oh please.

Diogenes is an invidious ass, and on that score can't hold a candle to GIThruster.

But he threatened no ones' life.

He expressed a no doubt sincere desire that you'd off yourself, Stubby, and if you won't outgrow your Rousseauan idiocy sooner than a decade hence--you'd harm humanity the less for doing it.

No Diogenes did not threaten to kill, just to harm.

In fact he threatened to harm any 'loudmouth' having the temerity to disagree with him. Hell he even bragged that he has harmed people in the past when his arguments fail to persuade. When he is called out on this behaviour, he implies he has not done it enough.

You will have to explain what you mean by the Rousseauan thing, sorry.
And wow TDPerk, if I don't learn your values, my death would would harm society less? Maybe once you explain the Rousseauan thing I will understand why you said that but that almost sounds like Diogenes.

"No Diogenes did not threaten to kill, just to harm."

Bullshit! Not one thing here would stand up as a threat in court.

and Stubby

"And wow TDPerk, if I don't learn your values, my death would would harm society less?"

Yes. You're too stupid to learn from history*, and your values have killed hundreds of millions by lead and fire, starved that many more, and are the relative impoverishment of billions, leading to the early death of most--a richer society can afford more and better healthcare, and food too.

Leftism has been a wrong turn for humanity turn since Rousseau came up with and articulated the quintessential phrase for it that bedevils us to this day.

*Not that Diogenes and GIThruster don't make up--or selectively emphasize--history as required, and in GIT's case, make up different ones at different times.

I'm glad you picked up on that, I wasn't sure it was coming through.

So I've got a goal towards which to reach? Good to know.

Actually I said I'd like to punch him in the nose. (The one which he has a tendency to poke into American Culture and Politics) I didn't say anything about his possible demise, though there are a lot of other folk for whom I would be more likely to shed a tear.

Other than that, spot on.

Don't mind disagreement at all. Just don't like obnoxious pricks, especially those who presume to meddle in affairs of which are none of their business.

Stubby wrote: Hell he even bragged that he has harmed people in the past when his arguments fail to persuade.
Don't recall doing that, you'll have to provide a quote. As far as harm goes, I would say I actually helped them. The people I have punched in the mouth stopped being obnoxious. It was a win-win for everybody! Not even any hard feelings years later.

Stubby wrote: When he is called out on this behaviour, he implies he has not done it enough.

This is probably accurate.

He's referring to your philosophical bent. Why am I not surprised that you wouldn't get the reference? Again, Intellectual communist. Knows nothing and wants to share it with you. Why don't you go tweet, or play on Facebook or something?

Perky is just trolling for a date. I keep telling him he's not my type but he just carries on and on and on. . .

Whenever it is pointed out to me that i'm not all roses and sunshine, I am reminded of what P.J. O'rourke had to say:

“I have only one firm belief about the American political system, and that is this: God is a Republican and Santa Claus is a Democrat.

God is an elderly, or at any rate, middle-aged, male. A stern fellow, patriarchal rather than paternal, and a great believer in rules and regulations. He holds man strictly accountable for their actions. He has little apparent concern for the material well being of others. He is politically connected, socially powerful, and holds the mortgage on everything in the world. God is difficult. God is unsentimental. It is very hard to get into God’s heavenly country club.

Santa Claus is another matter. He’s cute. He’s non-threatening. He’s always cheerful. He loves animals. He knows who’s been naughty and nice, but never does anything about it. He gives every one everything they want, without a thought of quid pro quo. He works hard for charity and is famously generous to the poor.

Santa Claus is preferable to God in every way but one: there is no such thing as Santa Claus!”

The rest of his speech is pretty hilarious as well.

No, but I am waiting for you to forget that we remember your ludicrous conspiracy claims about UFO's--and your other manifold stupidities.

Then I'll metaphorically beat you in the head with them again. You are no one whose arguments should be given credence, except by happenstance.

GIT is fortunate. Like a certain band of Germans - "Gott Mit Uns" until he wasn't. That is why he has no doubt. Doubtless very unscientific. But a very common delusion.

God doesn't make me certain. Evidence does. What I prefer to call a measured approach.

As I was pasting that I said to myself "one of these guys (I presumed it would be stubby) is going to immediately assert that "there is no such thing as God either." Ah, the predictability of people.

I make no claims one way or the other regarding the existence of God, but I am not certain about it one way or the other. I've noticed over my lifetime that those who are certain about things are generally not well informed about whatever it is they are certain about.

One cannot argue that there is no organizing force in the Universe. The existence of the Human race is an example of an astonishing "lottery win" in cosmic terms. If some people prefer to describe this as the work of a "God", then it doesn't bother me to let them believe so.
