The EMC2 website. I can't remember them in detail, but I know at least a handful of times there were things on there that were out of date. Their website is not a priority.KitemanSA wrote:WHO'S web site???Betruger wrote: Their website has always been unreliable - especially out of date.
That is NOT a facetious question, nor rhetorical. Please answer.
R. Nebel at 53rd APS Plasma Physics meeting
I was wondering if you were making that mistake.Betruger wrote: The EMC2 website. I can't remember them in detail, but I know at least a handful of times there were things on there that were out of date. Their website is not a priority.
The commercial company EMC2 does not have a web site, at least not one open to the public. What folks keep looking at is the EMC2 Fusion Development Corporation, a not for profit shell that only really has activity when EMC2 tries to push for donations or at MAJOR contractural junctions to better ask for donations. EMC2FDC doesn't seem to have been highly successful, but that is hard to say. I might one day contact the NewMexicoComFoundation which ACTUALLY accepts that donation.
Please note that the web site is EMC2fusion.ORG while the contact eddress is Rick@EMC2fusion.COM. There is no web site for EMC2fusion.com.
but what's Doc Park doing there now, that's my question...bennmann wrote:@rcain Not so true when you think about Dr. Park's interview about WB8. I'd say the last year has been the most open Emc2 year because of that one interview since emc2 founding and WB 7 finished.
and why apparently, is little else happening - Doc Nebel is further away from EMC2 action it seems at present - hardly the sign of a 'paradigm-shifting whirlwind technology' about to hit the stage, via the lone offices of.... etc.
The interview put to rest all my questions about Dr Nebel, really. The question of why he left is hardly as relevant as the incredible performance of WB8, as attested by another accredited LANL scientist.
I hope the reason he left was something practical, like his wife wanted more time for him, or less stress for him. Will we ever know? Probably not. But Park saying things like, "1000 times the performance of WB7" and "in line with the scaling laws" is waaaaaaay more important.

hmmm. whatever.
here are a few interesting links i came up with whilst googling for "Dr Jaeyoung Park plasma"::
- shows a LOT of publications with his name on (i'm somposing this is mostly one person).

Like, you drove by and saw dust gathering on the door knobs?rcain wrote:the lack of any activity in or around EMC2 ...not even a general hum or whirring from within... makes me more pessimistic as to a fruitful outcome for Polywell in general at the moment.
if things were looking rosy, things would be going on.
yep. pretty much. (well, the www at any rate).ladajo wrote:Like, you drove by and saw dust gathering on the door knobs?rcain wrote:the lack of any activity in or around EMC2 ...not even a general hum or whirring from within... makes me more pessimistic as to a fruitful outcome for Polywell in general at the moment.

you know any different?
