I was reading where Ibogaine, LSD and Salvia could be used to treat heroin addiction, completely blocks the opiate receptors, eliminates all desire for the stuff, helps the addict get in touch and sort out the problems that caused the addiction in the first place. So why would any country want to legalize opiates when they could just legalize psychadelics and completely bypass the itermediate step of heroin addiction. For that matter why would you want to become a lifelong pot smoker for PTSD when Salvia would help resolve the issues, legal in a lot of places. Makes just as much sense as saying chocolate is very bad for you, which if you're a diabetic it can be.

So basically if we do more to promote breast feeding we won't have as many malnourished babies grow up to be pot smokers. But getting back to the original reply, give the people with PTSD hallucinogenic therapy and they`ll save on a lifetimes worth of pot and heroin purchases, rather than manage the condition forever fix it at the start. Of course big pharma will hate anything that doesn't create a rent seeking industry. Unless of course PTSD and canniboid receptors are just a lame excuse for recreational and socially destructive drug abuse.

Saw a video years ago about either an Afgan or Pakistani village where over 90% of the population ended up addicted to heroin, they can't all be the vulnerable under 5% of the population. Maybe it's being done on a large scale deliberately just like China back in the day, ultimate strategy to defeat insurgency, addict the entire target population.

People in chronic pain chronically take pain relievers. I don't believe in drug abuse.

When you get stats like 90% conditions are VERY HARD. When conditions improve the numbers revert to the long term PTSD susceptible. We saw that in 'Nam. Something like 45% of returning vets were users. After a year that returned to the more normal (for the experience) few percent with the rest going to pot. Giving a total of 20% with long term problems.
