Not quite understand you.
When austenitic stainless steel is needed you should use that. For example for high pressure chemical reactors.
In other cases others.
Barrel steels with nitriding, without nitriding Tenifer process or similar, chrome lining, etc.
Some special other heat treatment processes.
May be beinit is useful as well. In some cases. I think for e.g. gears, may be for armors as developers declare. But that nonsense that no back spalling. Antispall liner required in any case.

I sell recreational vehicles (things like this: http://www.montana-rvs.com/montana/imag ... uction.jpg) and anything that can drastically decrease weight while increasing or keeping structural integrity will benefit my sales, so on a personal level this particular announcement appeals to me. I hope for independent replication soon.

Ben,
You need to seek a better quality supplier. Man, that sample picture you linked is showing a unit coming all apart and delaminating. At least get them to change the glue... :lol:
