Big Gov's "A" Game
Re: Big Gov's "A" Game
This is a monument to our incompetent Democrats:

The failure was in how they approached things right from the start. The needed to have this "right now" and couldn't understand that in order to enact something this big you have to have the support of people who trust you. Health care wasn't the big issues in 2009, the collapsing economy was and now that's what we are dealing with.

A campaign is short-term, and once the votes are counted is over. It doesn't matter how many people you pissed off (or on) in order to get your candidate elected.Jccarlton wrote:This is a monument to our incompetent Democrats:

This? It's not over yet - but it's pretty darn delusional to see it as any sort of 'win'.
When opinion and reality conflict - guess which one is going to win in the long run.

Sorry, Obama looks way better than you nutjobs. Doesn't steal like you do either.
We need a directorate of science, and we need it to be voted on only by scientists. You don't get to vote on reality. Get over it. Elected officials that deny the findings of the Science Directorate are subject to immediate impeachment for incompetence.

Turns out the head IT guy wouldn't sign off on the site due to security concerns:

His boss, a political signed off on a website that hadn't been tested and was not secure, that millions of people will HAVE to use. Then the IT guy resigns. Pushed or got out before the blame game started.

It's easy to get rich while failing if you have the right friends:

Of course one of the reasons that actual care is expensive is that so many get care without paying for it:

The problem with lies this big is that they can be transformative in ways the liars did not expect.:

Schneibster,
There is a limit to what you can take put of the economy with taxes. It is about 20% to 25% of GDP. Past that people avoid taxes and avoid working on the books as much as possible.
We are in the hole we are in because of the Community Reinvestment Act. The banks played along (to do otherwise would have been RACISSSSSSSSSSST) because they got to unload the toxics on Fanny and Freddie. Guess who hods the vast majority of Real Estate paper these days? Fanny and Freddie.
If it weren't for the crash government would be doing tolerably well.
And now we have the UnAffordable Care Act sucking a lot of money out of the economy. Even (some) supporters of the act think it will drive us into recession. The payouts are out of pocket and the IRS refunds come at tax time. A slight mismatch there. Central planners are so clever.

I don't like the Republican brand of Progressive politics any more than I like the Democrat brand. They are both crazy in their own way.
The Ds like economic socialism (a state bifurcated economically - fascism or corporatism in the modern vernacular). The Rs like moral socialism (a police state).
And they both help each other by not repealing the acts of the other. Why? Power. Need more power and control.
The Rs will get a leg up from ObamaCare(less) and they will squander it with some fool moral crusade. Bet on it.

Republicans are smarter than the Ds mostly. They understand every kind of market except the black market.
But we do have a choice of poisons at election time. It doesn't matter. Both parties are intent on poisoning us.

And why do I get the feeling that the refund/subsidy is never going to match the up-front payout?MSimon wrote:Schneibster,

Ah. But you are not forced at the point of a gun to buy the companies product. You can buy from a different company. Or buy nothing.Schneibster wrote:I can vote out a bad legislator. I can't get rid of a bad manager.
Just that simple.
What you keep proposing is a tyranny. And how do they end? Well you get the same market crash as when an economic system needs readjustment. Plus blood in the streets.
I applaud your underlying benevolence. Or is it overlying?

Re: Big Gov's "A" Game
None of them are honest. The slush fund created by Drug Prohibition is essential for the maintenance of the system. And equal enforcement is not in the cards. White people would never stand for it. And they ALL (AGs) know it. Every single AG. R or D.Diogenes wrote:Once again, these people are just Nazis. *IF* Obama leaves office at the end of this term, the entire lot of them needs to be rounded up and thrown in prison.Jccarlton wrote:How much suffering do we have to put up with, how many lies:

I think when an HONEST attorney general gets into office, the Federal government will have decades of work bringing these people to Justice.
It has in fact taken some 40 years but now even white people oppose prohibition. Well pot prohibition. But it is a start. And how did we get here? Just the nibbling at the edges of the white community. For 40 years. It was that nibbling at the edges that convinced a whole swath of my family that prohibition is wrong. They put away one of my second or third cousins for 20 years. And poof. Support evaporated. White people are not standing for it.
And who is caught holding the bag? Republicans. Stupid f'n Republicans. Despite the fact that Prohibition was a Progressive creation.
Republicans? Anti-Progressive? My arse.

What is the definition of insanity? doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Yet, that is what big government does:

I imagine that the programmers that worked on the CORE program stayed far away form government for a while.
