Designing for a Space Environment. Part of which is high radiation and vacuum. Lots of safety issues.
An interesting part is the work done to optimize power output of the solar cells. We will be doing similar things with the BFR except that we will control well voltage (time constant of well under 1 millisecond) and fuel flow (time constant of well under 10 mS).
Rule of thumb: the control system should be 10X as fast as the process. 100x is better. We should be fast enough.
Pumping speed is also a controlable factor. However, it will be a base load type of control on the order of minutes or longer.
