Reports are emerging that some of them have been found to contain malware that has infected their owners' PCs when plugged in to charge.

Many e-cigarettes can be charged by being plugged into a USB port but if they’re pre-loaded with malware, it could lead to a nasty digital infection.

A report on Reddit says that a malware infection was traced to an e-cig after all other avenues had been explored.

I have yet to find out if this is real but the same thing happened with digital picture frames two years ago.

Sheesh, this stuff is everywhere.

E cigs contain malware, more proof that smoking is bad for you. Just wait until they come out with malware infected E joints, then we'll see the reemergence of the Stoned virus.

Hey, where is that floppy disc that I have a copy of the Stoned virus imprisoned on? You don't supposed ....

It has been literally two decades since I've seen a reference to the Stoned virus. That was an annoying two days since the person that had the infected computer brought floppies home to work on there, so she brought the darn thing back to work at least twice before finally getting it cleaned off her home PC as well.

As for picture frames and e-cigs as a vector of transmission, I'm kind of surprised we haven't seen more infected USB memory sticks, considering how pervasive their use is now.
