Will *** Affect The Florida Election?

I wrote an article a while back at American Thinker on how the Democrats might use pot legalization to win elections: http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/09/ ... _plan.html
It looks like it might affect the Governor Election this year in Florida. Lets go back about a year and a half to see what it looked like then:

The most recent poll:

Now the most recent poll is by a polling organization that leans left. But a 15 or so point shift in two years doesn't seem unreasonable. So will the measure bring Democrats to the polls? It remains to be seen.

The race right now is too close to call.

How about his opponent?http://www.ibtimes.com/medical-marijuan ... ws-1642256
Despite Florida voters’ widespread support of marijuana legalization, November’s ballot measure isn’t without its detractors, among them is Republican Gov. Rick Scott. Even though he signed a bill in June that legalized low-grade cannabis for medical patients suffering from cancer or chronic seizures, Scott has stated he will oppose the Florida Right to Medical Marijuana Initiative in part because of the measure’s broad language. Opponents say the amendment allows almost anyone to obtain a medical cannabis card.
“I’ve watched drug use. I’ve watched alcoholism,” he said on the campaign trail in June. “I’ve seen how it affects families. I can’t support that.”
Scott is being true to his base. Only 80% of Republicans support Med Pot in the left leaning poll. And 18 months ago? Only 56% of Republicans supported it. Even assuming the latest poll is skewed 10% Scott is asking for trouble. The Republicans are political geniuses.http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/01/2 ... 76935.html
Florida Democrats Could Get Boost From Medical Marijuana Initative
A November ballot measure to legalize marijuana for medicinal use in Florida could have a decidedly political side effect.
The ballot proposal, which was approved by Florida's Supreme Court on Monday, is so popular it could help Democrats unseat the state's Republican Governor, Rick Scott, who is up for re-election in November.
Democrats believe it could energize their base in a midterm electoral season that generally results in low turn out, while polls show even a majority of Florida Republicans support medical marijuana use.
Scott opposes the ballot initiative and is trailing in polls to his main challenger, former governor Charlie Crist, who favors legalization. That could set the stage for a political battle in a state that is both a harsh enforcer of drug laws and a major pot producer.
Florida's contest is the only gubernatorial election in a big swing state in November's midterm elections, and a Democratic victory would be a major blow to the Republican party heading into the 2016 presidential race.
