The Federal Government does not have the power to ban substances. Well it didn't used to. At least the Republicans involved in the discussion of the Harrison Narcotics Act (1914) thought the Feds didn't have that power.

But the Progressives won that argument. At least for Alcohol Prohibition there was an Amendment. Where are the Amendments for all these other Prohibitions?

And that is why I call both parties Progressive. They are. Just about different things - mostly. Some times they are Progressive about the same things.

Until the Republicans clean up their act they will find it hard to be believed. RomneyCare? Really? And Romney claimed to be against ObamaCare. Really? I didn't believe him.
