Dershowitz: Iran Deal 'Cataclysmic Error of Gigantic Proportions'

Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz said Sunday that the Obama administration was naive and had possibly made a "cataclysmic error of gigantic proportions" in its deal to ease sanctions on Iran in exchange for an opening up of the Islamic Republic's nuclear program.

"I think it could turn out to be a cataclysmic error of gigantic proportions," Dershowitz said of the deal, which he described as "naive."

"It could also turn out to be successful, to be the beginning of a negotiated resolution," Dershowitz told Newsmax on Sunday. "But I think the likelihood of it being the former is considerably greater."

What a relief - all the hype declaring that Iran is sure to blow up Israel the moment they get hold of nuclear weapons suddenly seems much less credible if they have actually possessed same for the last 10-20 years.

Maybe the hipe on Iran aquiring nukes was meant to hide the fact western intelligence already knew, but the real threat was Iran aquiring accurate delivery systems. If the Saudis already have nukes or are aquiring they will be far more determined to use them against Iran than even Israel, they won't care so much about a strike being surgical.

The danger then becomes, in a nuclear exchange between Iran and Saudi Arabia, retaliation would extend to neighbouring countries, especially Israel which according to newer reports has up to 800 nukes, Israel would retaliate against who knows besides Iran.

That's when things would really begin to escalate.

Saudi and Israel have been covert allies since the 2006 Lebanon dust up. Who are they allied against? Iran and its proxies..

I expect a nuclear war in the ME. It could go world wide. Iran has been making allies in South America for a long time. Did you note Kerry ending the Monroe Doctrine? A green light for Iran.
