Government vs Business

Business: we can attract customers if we reduce wait times.
Government: we can reduce costs if we increase wait times.
That is the problem with command and control. The incentives are wrong. And it doesn't account for a distribution of desires.
And yes - some businesses will try to reduce costs by increasing wait times. Others will do the opposite. Isn't choice grand?
The problems of doing things at the point of a (government) gun will always be with us.
Progressives have a lot of faith in (government) guns. It always (sooner or later) turns out badly. Especially when the citizenry is well armed.
But I'm pretty non-partisan on the issue. The Republicans are just as Progressive as the Democrats. Just about different things.
