Crazy Physics On The FEL

I looked at the pictures in this article and said that picture looks like the back IR beamline on JLab's FeL, my old project. Then I read down and yes indeed that is exactly what it was:

This is an update of the experiment that I posted earlier. Cool stuff. Done by crank physicists.

And published in peer reviewed journals.

This one will be interesting even if it fails. It probably will fail; dark matter is almost certainly WIMPs, not some sort of super-photon, because a super-photon would indicate the presence of a fifth force and we see no sign of one.

The article would be more interesting if it said what "recent research results" it was talking about; I'm pretty familiar with dark matter research, Kamioka and the CDMS and DAMA, and I don't know what they're talking about; certainly I haven't heard any noises about a "super-photon."

No point in asking you I suppose.

Here's a paper on bosonic dark matter that rules it out unless it's not in equilibrium.

http://arxiv.org/abs/1109.3844

"Here, we rule out the possibility that dark matter is a repulsive boson in thermal equilibrium." It may still be under peer review.

Actually, no. But not because I don't know anything and couldn't find out a lot more with a couple of emails. Emails that you will never see simply because you have done so much with your attitude to piss everybody off here. So I have no incentive to ask about this other than my own curiosity and I don't really want to take the time to anything other than send a "This is great publicty, good work, pass it on" email to my friends. So you get nothing and it's your own fault. Think about what you could have had, had you acted differently. Think about that and you might grow. Though I suspect that you won't and in the end it's your loss.

It's your credibility. >shrug<

My "attitude" is that science is pretty much generally right, and that unless you're a scientist in the field in question you probably shouldn't be dissing scientists' work.

I pretty much dislike people who dis scientists' work without really understanding what they're talking about, or for malice, on sight. Like you for instance.

And I still think it's hella weird finding a bunch of climate cranks and darwin deniers on a pro-fusion site. There's a disconnect in your minds someplace that you need to fix.

You don't get it, do you. My credibility in your eyes means nothing to me. It is something of no value. You don't matter, seriously the only way I think of you is PITA. You've demonstrated that you have no concern for anybody here and no desire to help. So why should I care about anything that you say. Where it matters my credibility does just fine. thank you very much. The thing is, had you played right this could have been something really good for you. But your whole attitude and behavior here, where you could have made a fresh start, sabotaged anything you might have gained right from the start. The irony is that you will never know what you missed and it's your loss.

Then how come you're so upset by my "attitude?"

I think what really upsets you is that you know I'm right and you know the whole scam is dissolving in front of your eyes.

Boner failed. Watts is getting sued for lying. 60 Minutes never, ever asked what Ambassador Stevens did and said about security. The Arctic is in an ice death spiral. Bush 43 failed to get bin Laden, and failed to win Iraq, and wasted trillions we'll be paying off in 2020. The teabaggers sabotaged the economy for personal gain, and some of them have engaged in treason which cannot be prosecuted because they're immune.

Sorry you're so upset, but I didn't do it; I just brought the news.

And if you were honest, instead of just gameplaying again, you'd admit it. But you're not; this is just another emotional attack. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it.

The problem with you is you'll say anything to "win." To you a forum isn't a conversation between equals, it's a competition.

You weren't ever going to be polite once you found out I'm a "librul." And when it became obvious I'm smarter than you, that sealed the deal with jealousy.

And in any case what you ask is impossible; I will not lie.

And last but not least: so you don't know yourself.

What were you in charge of, making sure all the wired connections had plastic insulators on them?

You know, you could change your spots right here and now.

I'd never question why nor throw it in your face.

Because you have and are still doing the same thing the PopSci trolls did. Piss in our pool. You are the obnoxiously self-serving schadenfreudian know it all drunk that shows up at a bar full of better-or-worse regulars and pretends his malignance doesn't stink. The type that makes everyone go from indifference to wishing his beer was general anesthetic.

Do us all a favor, go see elsewhere on the net if we're there. I bet we'd all be quick to agree to ourselves go find some other similarly biased zealot who actually had commensurate netiquette to go with his attention starved eager beaver compulsions, if that was the price for you to uninstall yourself from our forum.

I didn't bring the piss. I just pointed out it was there.

Maybe if you didn't piss so much.

Just sayin'.

Sorry, when your meaningless unfounded accusations turn to word salad I stop listening.

Amusingly it appears your accusation that I'm a drunk is a second Freudian slip on your part; word salad is a common symptom.
