The TEA Party Knows Science

Post by MSimon »

Using a scale intended to measure ones’ substantive scientific knowledge and critical reasoning skills, he found liberals/Democrats scored significantly higher than conservatives/Republicans on the science comprehensive scale. However, tea party supporters (19% of his sample) were statistically more likely than non-tea partiers to also score higher on the science comprehension scale. While the statistically significant difference is not likely substantive, it demonstrates that tea partiers on average are different than conservative Republicans.

The TEAs tend to be more libertarian than the Republicans as a whole.

According to our recent commenter:
Tea parties are held by little girls with their imaginary friends.
I imagine that he has a lot of experience with imaginary friends, no real ones, and considering the bubble where he lives, no contact with the TEA party or the real people who are members. But then I don't think our commenter wants much contact with real people.

Yeah, crank science: global warming denial and YEC. Not to mention racism and crank economics.
We need a directorate of science, and we need it to be voted on only by scientists. You don't get to vote on reality. Get over it. Elected officials that deny the findings of the Science Directorate are subject to immediate impeachment for incompetence.

See, this just strikes me as more Republican payback for truth's liberal bias.

Somebody publishes an fMRI study that indicates liberals/Democrats are in general better emotionally regulated than conservatives/Republicans. Republicans immediately pay someone to "prove" the opposite, like it's some kind of advertising war or something.

Unclear on the concept. Major category error. This is why truth has a liberal bias; because Republicans always lie.

C'mon, quit lying to yourself: teabaggers are burfers. That's the worst lie of all.

Just so everyone knows, this source isn't some yellow political rag, but a national professional magazine, which you can find in many mental health professionals' offices.

Conservatives try to claw their way to the top. Liberals prefer to collaborate. It's in the genes.

I really despise people who think you can pay to make it the truth.
