Do We Really Want The US To Be Run By A Social Club

Time was when a degree from the Ivy covered Snob factories meant something. I remeber the old movie, "The Paper Chase," with the students having a crushing work load from stern experienced professors. Now you are more than likely to be educated by the likes of Elizabeth Warren, Bill Ayres or Noam Chomsky. Do get in, you have to be in the right crowd or be "diverse" enough to attract the eyes of an andmissions person using the "holistic" method.

The actual classes and education have come to mean less than the more important networking and social connections you get from being in that special place.:

The problem is that these are the people who get to be on the fast track to be the next Mandarins and run well, us. Yet their only qualifications, in the end, is membership in an exclusinve social club.
