darn he missed the freefall record but got the highest jump and highest human in a balloon

Scary, the unbelievable number of screw ups by mission control and by the jumper failing to respond to his check list properly, even at times doing things on the list before being told. Inability to follow direction like this would never be found amongst the professionals at NASA or the DoD. Worst part--after the chute opens, mission control telling him the wind is from one direction when it is from another--and they made this mistake TWICE. What's the point of providing info to the jumper about wind direction when you're going to screw it up? Amateurs. . .

Well he broke the records for the highest jump and the fastest fall. From what I see, he broke the sound barrier.

Well the difference is that NASA did not do it. They did it. As we say here "After the war everyone is general." You definitely are an after the war general GIT.

Loved Joes one finger salute! Definitely not what NASA would do, but having read some comments before and after the jump, I can understand his need to do it ;)
