The only answer I see is

#1 Less intrusive government
#2 Love one another

Of those options #2 will be the hardest. And the problem of #1 (government) stems from the lack of #2

Hosea 6:6 - it goes back quite a ways. The future will only work for a totally moral people. You get that kind of morality only with a loving heart. Religions of fire and brimstone are unwanted - dangerous in fact.
Engineering is the art of making what you want from what you can get at a profit.
