Interesting article.

I am dubious of the non-union vs union workers slant to the article and to your comments. It was the salaried workers who got their pension plan terminated. It is pretty typical for salaried workers to not be unionized and to therefore not have contracts regarding benefits that must be honored. It's not like there were two people doing the same job, one unionized and one not, and they just screwed the non-unionized one. It was a cut to benefits for salaried white collar types. Happens all the time.

Now, who is making the decision IS potentially an issue.
