Shouryya Ray, a resident of Dresden, has solved a differential equation that addresses a fundamental problem in particle dynamics and may be used to predict the flight path of a ball bouncing off a wall, the German paper Die Welt said.
I have searched around and found what exactly he was doing: drag force (proportional to velocity squared) and uniform gravitational acceleration. And after some others reviewing it apparently it actually has been "solved" before. And by solved, he has a series solution.
