It is a wonder that social conservatives once staunchly Democrat are now Republican. Doesn't say much for their conservatism does it?
OTOH they still favor big government for THEIR projects so perhaps the conservatism has not been lost after all.
The evil liberals want to use government for their evil ends but conservatives only want to use government to do good. That is the main difference between the two parties. And it is universally true - just change the names and it applies to the other "side" too.
The real evil in this country evidently is people who just want to be left alone.
