I have found this thread just now.
And can say that I thought about the proposed by this patent scheme many years ago before came to proposed by me scheme: ions directed at the same direction but with different velocities and relativistic electrons directed oppositely to ions.
I think that in considering patent very low circulated currents can be achieved. And scattered particles in merging (fusion) line A34 or B28 will loss.
My concept would be more attractive as allows good focusing capabilities and so gives the opportunity to achieve high power density. Unlike this patent in my proposal all particles all time till the end of cycle are in deep potential well of each other.

Also my concept has a disadvantage that the energy that initially should be pumped in ions is much higher than center-of-mass collision energy (on order of magnitude).
Nevertheless the simple calculation gives the positive energy balance.
