. . ."hey General Petraeus, mind taking over for McCrystal?" what would you have said?
I would have asked "I dunno. Are we allowed to win this time?"
POTUS would have asked "what do you mean?"
And I would have answered "we have such a history of intentionally losing wars. You tell our enemies when we're leaving. You don't send troops asked for. You send less than asked for. You have White House gimps deciding what to do based upon politics rather than Generals deciding what to do based upon their knowledge of how to win a war. So I have to ask, are we allowed to WIN this time?"
