Belief in Global Warming officially recognized as a religion

A guy in UK was laid off. He claims that his is because of his beliefs in Manmade Global Warming.

Well, I can't help but agree.
Belief in man made global warming is a religion and does need recognition and a treatment as one. The problem is with the law itself that allows you to practice your beliefs at work even if it harms the company.
Lets say I am a hard liner communist and strongly believe that all the "evil private industry" should be destroyed, then I get myself hired in the private enterprises to destroy them from within. Now if they want to fire me, they can't because my beliefs are protected.
Or, say I believe the 2% difference in genetic code between apes and man is negligible. There people like that, the Spanish leftist parliament already recognized the human rights of apes. Then I hire an ape as my subordinate to do all the accounting for my department. Firing me for that would be an act against my beliefs...
Laws like that are imposing ones believes upon people who couldn't care less. Seems like beginning of a new inquisition. How much further can we go with this nonsense...
