We will get mostly Huxley with a little Orwell. There will be an outlaw culture for those who do not fit in.

Kinda reminds me of the old joke about the computer being tasked with solving the problem of people getting injured while climbing stairs. The computer noted that 90% of all accidents involved the top or bottom steps. The computer's solution ?

Remove the top and bottom steps.

Kinda like rich and poor, eh ?

Of course, both scenarios suck. However, if I had to choose one or the other, of course I would take Huxley over Orwell any day of the week. Why the hell would I think differently. I consider Orwell's to be far worse than Huxley.

The fact that your average social conservative would choose Orwell's over Huxley's is indicative of their pathological nature.

Both are hell.

Don't play the ad hominem game Kurt. You'll lose.

The answer to Huxley's worry is this: we can only fulfill our programming.

The hard truth is our lives are meaningless outside the context of the ten trillion biochemical receptors of our bodies. Love, hate, lust, science, reason... these have only the meaning created by the 700MB or so of fractal coding in our DNA.

To worry that the programming is not noble or wonderful is silly, since nobility and wonder are only themselves aspects of the programming.
