The messed up part is that I'm an incredibly moderate centrist, for every ill I blast the conservatives for, there is another I blast the liberals for. The conservatives of the last 10 years have marched to the right so much that it's put me into liberal territory. I don't want to be a f*cking liberal so can the conservatives please drop the "moral social issues" line and get back to being real fiscal hawks.
And with such statements you indicate that you have not the slightest clue what is driving the financial problems of this nation.
Without a population that understands and follows a set of rules which are required for civilization, it will never be possible to solve financial problems.
Libertarians all suffer from the same lake of comprehension and deluded beliefs; That you can have a functioning society without an underpinning moral system.
I keep hearing that only social conservatives can be fiscal conservatives. Well OK. I have decided Hezbollah will have to do its work without me. Since they believe I can't be one of them without following their route to religion. I intend to take as many as I can with me.
The Republicans a very long time ago used to be a Party that welcomed "free thinkers". No more. Fine. If they only want 100% agreement I'll do my best to see that those that are less than perfectly pure in their politics and religion no longer vote Republican.
I think such an attitude as yours is self defeating. But I have no objection to it. And I will vote accordingly. And convince as many as I can to do the same. It won't be difficult.
What it looks like to me is that we have today two totalitarian parties. One religious and one secular. I'm going to take the advice of CS Lewis.
Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber barons cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. CS Lewis
I choose the secular totalitarians.

Their both "for your own good" parties, just in different ways. The Religious Democrats *Cough* I mean Republicans want to dictate religious laws to everyone. The Democrats just want to "save the world" from various imaginary evils, and just don't care how much they destroy to accomplish it.
The only real difference is that the Democrats spend just as much time fighting each other as they do fighting the Republicans. If they would ever focus all their energy in one direction then they could turn the USA into another socialist / communist nation. I shudder at the thought of the Liberals uniting one day.

Once again I feel people are missing the bigger picture. Twenty five years ago there were approximately 325 of these position or czars as the are called. Now there is over 3000. and we wonder why we are in debit.

Yes, advocates of Burkean philosophy are exactly like murderous Hezbollah. Hyperbole much?

Cutting off your nose to spite your face is not much of a plan.

What's funny is that you think the Democrats don't want to tell you what to do!

Like what?

Not at all. They just want to be in power. They use the pretense of saving the world (jumping from crises to crises) to accomplish this goal.

At this point I think the Republicans should help the Democrats smash this nation into pieces, and then the chaff will get burned up.
The braking force which has henceforth been applied, should now be inverted into an accelerating force. Those who can, should get on the government dole so we can Cloward Piven this rotten system. It's time to both starve and overload the beast.
