Not all of us are like that. And of course re: courage there are the Israelis.

And learning without wisdom? Well it comes and goes. Maimonides. Einstein. Bohr. Feynman.

And of course Mencken was describing the nouveau riche in any time and place.

Just throwing it out there. Just because someone says something that sounds good doesn't mean that it's true.

Sounds like a good idea to me. There seems to be way to much certainty in the world these days.

Interesting. I believe the material mostly quotes IPCC and CRU/Hadley (or GISS? can't remember right now) data.

Can you please be more specific? (Or do you consider these data false?).

I am pretty sure Josh is claiming 3 meters of sea level rise by 2100. Not 1 meter and definitely not 12 inches.

HL Menken was a humorist. Obviously, you have never been around Jewish people for very long. Some of this is true some of the time. That doesn't mean that Jews don't have tremendous strength in adversity, an infinite ability to adapt to new situations and the ability to attempt to get along with everybody.

Josh,
Here's the PDF so you don't have to use time stamps:
http://www.climate-skeptic.com/Climate% ... 1-2010.pdf

With more arguments from Meyer:

I asked him too. No reaponse. I guess he was just venting his exasperation at loosing the general argument.

It is apparent to me that Josh believes even the IPPC worst case scenarios to be way off on sea level rise. The 50cm or so the IPCC has predicted is way too low. 3 meters is Josh's number. The only mechanism for this behavior is melting of ice on land. That means antartica or greenland. Greenland is going to melt! It's melting I tell ya.

Here are some historic hockey sticks from greenland - for your enjoyment.

I really like this picture. In one shot you get, the rate of warming is not unpresidented and it is not as warm today as it has been in the past. Plus, the picture is based on an alarmists second favorite weapon - an ice core.

Greenland is not melting.

Note - the GISP data ends in 1900. I added another century of 0.6 degrees C of warming to get to 2000. This is about right.

I've been arguing with some guy about PG&E "SmartGrid" energy meters and how they're screwing over poor people so I haven't had a chance to respond yet.

Thanks to the link to the PDF, makes it easier.

Have some patience, btw. :P (I know many of you are elderly and could die at any minute, but darn!)

Many arguments are getting complicated due to the "raw" data being missing, and "Value added" data being the only available temp readings.

Who dumps raw data!!

Yes, you are right that many of the "Climate Skeptics" arguments lack citations.
