The rule of law is important. Especially so when the law places a limitation on government.

The trouble is the source is completely untrustworthy. The inference that just because no one was arrested that police drawing their weapons constitutes unnecessary and excessive force is just plain dopey. Likewise, there's no reason given to believe the contention that due process was violated and Jackson was denied a defense. There are lots of crazy charges here and no evidence or citing of fact.

This happens a lot where dope is concerned. Police ignore the laws. In one case in California police self federalized to justify their behavior. The courts shot them down. The police ignored it. But that is changing. Slowly.

And GIT - you prohibitionists will soon be out in the cold politically. You have already lost the argument with the population.

I must say it is a pleasure to see you in such pain.

I saw a recent poll saying 59% of the population now favors legalization. Do I believe the number is really that high (heh)? No. But it is the sort of thing that typically happens when an issue crosses the 50% threshold (true for about a year now). Lots of people in the "not sure" category change their minds. Not many want to be in the minority - we are herd animals after all.

I must tell you that after being in the minority for 40+ years that this is SWEET. With a little luck I will live to see the end of Federal Prohibition.

What to watch for on election day: What does better in Colorado. Mitt or the weed. Typically weed is more popular in these sort of elections.

Republicans should get with the program lest the Democrats win in '16 on the issue. Because with med pot now north of 70% and with weed legalization trending to the 60s it is an issue ripe for the grasping. The first party to do so will be taking all the marbles from the ring.

Your oft cited study is crap and you know it. Good and clear work has shown that driving while high is not only stupid, but increases danger. But in your self-centered view of the planet, you actions are allowed to hold others at risk, they just aren't allowed to do it to you...
